The subject matter is highly intriguing and has piqued my interest in the recent developments within the Indo-Pacific region. I am particularly interested in examining how countries such as China are employing the strategy of arsenal vessels to project their power in this area.
It’ll be fascinating to see how China and the PLAN explores such a vessel; with some initial proposals around power projection in the Pacific, both around and beyond the first island chain.
Thank you for reading - I really appreciate you taking the time. Reimagining the 'Arsenal Ship' in an era of resurgent Cruise and ballistic missile threats and vastly matured anti-access/area denial (A2/AD) systems is an idea I have been thinking about for a while. And one, I am thrilled to have put pen to paper. Always keen to hear readers' thoughts.
Many thanks to the Council on Geostrategy and Dr Emma Salisbury for publishing my latest piece.
